Notice of Public Hearings
Notice is hereby provided that the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 14, 2023, and the City Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 21, 2023, for the rezoning of property described below. Both public hearings will occur at 6 p.m. at the Gunter Public Safety Building located at 105 North 4th Street, Gunter, Texas 75058.
Rezone approximately 950 acres of property generally located on the east side of the intersection of State Highway 289 and the BNSF Railroad, north of Mackey Road from Planned Development District for mixed-use, residential, retail, commercial, agricultural and/or industrial districts or within the Gunter Extraterritorial Jurisdiction to a Planned Development District for all uses permitted within the (Manufacturing / Industrial – Heavy) District plus Asphalt Manufacture/refining; Cement/lime/gypsum/plaster of parts manufacture; Chemical manufacturing; Concrete; Contractor’s shop & storage yard (temporary); Fat rendering; Fertilizer manufacture; Fiberglass manufacture; Gas manufacture; General Commercial plant; Glue of gelatin manufacture; Mill, grain / flour / food products; Petroleum products, sales, wholesale; and scrap metal sales and storage; and similar industrial uses that have comparable impact on adjacent property, and correspond with the purpose and restrictions of the; District.
